Jennifer Wilcox

Jefferson District Court

Hon. Jennifer Wilcox
Division
7

Jennifer Bryant Wilcox was appointed by the Governor in the summer of 2009 to serve as a Jefferson District Court Judge.  She has served on the bench since then and is now running to keep her seat.

Before becoming a judge, Jennifer served as an Assistant Commonwealth's Attorney here in Jefferson County for nearly eight years.  There, she was a Division Chief in one of the trial units where she not only supervised a large number of attorneys and staff, but also handled and tried many serious and high profile cases involving murder, armed robbery, serial rape, and elder abuse.  She oversaw the legal training for the Louisville Metro Police Department's Recruit Class and advised detectives on investigative strategy and constitutional concerns.

Prior to her work at the Commonwealth's Attorney's Office, she served as an Assistant Director of Law with the City of Louisville Law Department.  There, she defended the City in civil suits.

With her trial experience and a background in both civil and criminal law, Jennifer is highly qualified to serve on the District Court bench.  And the public agrees.

Jennifer has been endorsed by Citizens for Better Judges, the Fraternal Order of Police, Jefferson County Teachers Association, Greater Louisville Central Labor Council, Firefighters, Retired Firefighters, Greater Louisville Building and Construction Trades Council, Teamsters, United Auto Workers, Machinists, Laborers, Steel Workers, Electrical Workers, Plumbers and Pipefitters, and American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees.

Jennifer stays involved in our community, as well.  She is a member of the Louisville Science Center Board of Directors, Junior League of Louisville, University of Kentucky College of Law Alumni Association Board of Directors, Louisville Forum, and St. Margaret Mary Church.  She is married to Brad and they have two children, Caroline and Boone.
