EXPERIENCE: Prior to her election to the District Court in 1998, Judge Collins had over twenty years of experience as a Jefferson District Public Defender, a Jefferson County Prosecutor and a Family Court practitioner.
In a recent survey by the Louisville Bar Association, Judge Collins was voted the MOST HIGHLY QUALIFIED DISTRICT COURT candidate on the November ballot.
She is a regular volunteer for simulated court projects, such as Judges in the Classroom and Trial by Jury at the Sate Fair. She has been involved with the District Court Reorganization Project from its inception. Judge Collins was elected by her fellow judges to represent Jefferson County on the Executive Committee of the Kentucky
District Court Judges’ Association.
In addition to her endorsement by Citizens for Better Judges, she has been endorsed by every organized labor group in Jefferson County including the Police, Firefighters, and Teachers.
Judge Collins sincerely appreciates the efforts expended by the Citizens for Better Judges to educate the public about the Judiciary.
